Profile

Simone Jeavons – Director

Simone Jeavons is an organisational psychologist who is registered in the state of Western Australia. Prior to starting her own business, she worked as an Organisational Psychologist for Rio Tinto, living remotely in far north Queensland. She focused a lot of her time on leadership and employee development, and worked closely with the indigenous communities to increase their representation within the company. Simone then spent time travelling across Australia and internationally, working as a consultant psychologist within the resources sector, facilitating courses on the psychology of safety.

After returning to her home base of Perth Simone worked on various projects including a role as a behaviour based coach on a BHP project and as a school psychologist in the private sector. Throughout her career Simone has also worked to promote optimism within children, conducted workplace psychological assessment, performed counselling and worked as a sessional academic at Curtin University.

Simone finished her Masters in 2002, where her research investigated the ‘glass ceiling effect’ in organisations and found evidence of a ‘sticky floor’ (women being entered into the organisation at a lower level than men with comparable qualifications and experience). She has presented at both state and national conferences on women in the workforce.

Simone is passionate about achieving a fair and equal representation of women in middle to senior management and works to help both men and women to understand each other better.
